UA 30 with Bill, Jeff and Rob
Today actually turned out to be a great riding day. It was cool and the wind had subdued quite a bit from some of the last few rides we took! The mileage was exactly thirty according to my computer. Two pit stops were taken for misc reasons, but it was a quicker ride than normal. Bill even said he had improved quite a bit!
Special thanks to Cecily Tynan of Channel 6 (abc) for the perfect wind report. We routed our ride based on the light wind and had a tailwind for almost the entire ride. THANKS DARLING!

Woodstreamers Breakdown 16.5
UGH, this was one of those days where you should have just stayed home. In addition to my spoke problem (will fix tonight), James had quite the blowout where two tubes are having funerals. We had to leave him at Atsion Farms after two failed attempts at fixing the problem. We fear that the rim liner was allowing the spoke cap to puncture the tube, so we couldn't get him back on the road. Thankfully his neighbor was able to pick him up.
Jeff and I were pretty beat from yesterday's ride, so the adrenaline wasn't pumping like I had anticipated.

The "Poop Her Out" 15
Ok, so we ditched the kids, strapped on the helmet and promised each other we 'd do at least 25. Well, she's not quite ready for that!
We did the Winslow 15 up to Stella Maise park and back. Total of 15. Nice day! Weather is about 85 and no complaints from this side! I would have gotten back out there, but im doing a long one tomorrow morning, so whatever!

Woodstreamers 20
Sorry, no pictures today, so why not promote a local business?
So Jeff, Jen, Christy and I took a nice 20 through Waterford today. Jen got to use her new bike and Christy managed to twist up her back rim. No worry - I fixed it. LOL
Anyway did about 20 - and the Mrs., god bless her, kept up.
Im ready for the B ride. Bring on the 30.

Franklinville / Wash Twp 30.2 with Ixsa, Jeff and Bill
Wonderful cruise through Franklinville, Washington Township. The wind hit us on the back leg of the course, but everyone did fine! Mostly flat straight roads kept our pace pretty high!
It was nice meeting our new rider, Bill - great to ride next to him and chat it up! No mechanical problems, but i did make a nice adjustment to my right clip (she was slipping a little).
Im looking forward to the B ride with Peddlers on Sunday. See you at the high school!

Warm-up Sprints: Atco
Well, since the rain is on it's way once again, I knew I didn't have much time to ride. I figured I would get out on to Maple Ave in Atco and start my sprints. Considering that I have only been doing long distance endurance runs, it was time to break some wind (Did I say that?)
I hit a cool 31mph with a tailwind and a flat surface. I really didn't think I had it in me, but it quickly pulled it out of me! A lot is to be said about "pacing yourself" because it ripped all my energy from me. Wow. Nice to cut that much wind !

Wonderful Sunday Morning 24 Miler with Peddler Group
It was a wonderful, blood-pumping ride through the rolling hills of Mullica Hill this morning. We joined up with Shawn and company from the Peddlers Shop in Deptford once again. Our meeting place is at Clearview High School. It was an aggressive C ride with Shawn showing us formation tactics and etiquette.. Jeff and I are excited to try the B ride next week.

Easter 24 with Ixsa and Friends from the Peddler's Shop
We must be really nuts to be biking in this weather. The wind and cold really stopped many people from even coming out this morning! The Mullica Hill area is very hilly and of course every hill is complete with a strong 30mph headwind. Fun.
Anyway, met Chris, Karen and Ross - Nice people associated with the shop. We did the C ride today because the wind was just not on our side.

Ten Dollar Bike Stand
Is it me, or all the bike stands out there are either way too expensive or built like crap? I took $8 worth of materials and put this little jem together. It's super strong, and breaks down easily. Took about 30 minutes to slam together and is highly portable.
Can't beat it. I will post the details of how to slap it together at www.MyManZone.com as soon as i get the chance.

31 Miler with Jeff and Ixsa - Medford Lakes
Yet another fantastic ride meandering through Medford lakes and parts of Burlington County. Ixsa sure gets props for doing 20 miles before she even got here. Wow. You go girl.
We passed PJ Whelehans and Jeff will tell ya, I wanted a beer! He said no, so we continued on :) I gotta start bringing my wallet or at least money!
Traffic was a little heavier today than normal, but I guess I can attribute that to Good Friday.
Anyway, we're really looking forward to riding with Ixsa again!
Clean the parts!

Quick Windy Waterford Ride: 12m
Drizzle & wind do not make for a very good ride. We had a super tailwind at the beginning of the ride but the way back was half murder again. Nothing to report but we had a good ride. Paced about 15-16 in the headwind, about 19-21 in the tailwind.

Complete Boredom: Rain, Cold and Wind
In another holding pattern with this weather. I'd love to be able to shed the tights, the underarmor, etc. and get out there and sweat. How can you sweat in 39 degree weather with 30+mph winds? THIS SUCKS! The trainer hurts my butt and the bike needs to be refitted. Besides, what fun is the trainer?
I don't know about you, but im officially protesting the weather, and sure hope that someone is listening!

The Nipple-Hardener 12
I woke up knowing that I drank too many beers with the neighbors last night, so I knew what i had to do. Threw on some gear and hit the road while the sun came up. It was very cold (hence my title.)
Maple ave is a beautiful ride, especially where the new pavement. If you follow it all the way out till it's end, its a beautiful six-mile stretch. It's mostly flat, so im thinking i want to race my good buddy Jeff just for kicks.

The Wall Of Wind 25: Winslow Ball Breaker
I'll clearly admit that this was our hardest ride this year. Its not the distance that bothered us, but instead 40+ MPH Gusts that nearly threw us off the bikes. As we tired, we calculated that the distance would be shorter getting home by taking 73 for a few miles. The amount of wind that was there made pacing at 13 feel like 25. There was a point that all Jeff and I did was just laugh (what else were we going to do?).
Anyway, we made it and all in one peice and the endorphans, (mixed with this beer) are kicking in nicely. Hopefully, i'll have time to squeeze one in tomorrow (Jeff not around) before my photoshoot.
Riders: Jeff Druce, Rob Blanda
Enjoy your weekend, and share the road!

Waterford Storm! 23 (12+11)
I started my ride on the trainer today, doing about 12 miles or so. I went upstairs to get more water and low and behold, the sun was out and the roads were dry! I grabbed Emily and darted out for another 11. I hit some of waterfords nicer areas including Burnt Mill Road. (love that road!) then I saw the storm coming and decided to haul it in. It was windy as hell, but I didnt care. I just wanted to hit the streets. The trainer is so borning!
